"I talked to Coach Berry earlier and told him I was ready to commit".
One of the big draws for Brayle was the youth of the ULM football team. "I like the fact that no matter what your classification is you have a shot at winning a starting position at ULM. Its an open competition".
Shawnee high school made the jump to 6A this year and things have not gone like they did in 2009. "Twelve of our starting players have been injured including myself so its been a difficult year for us", said Brown.
So difficult that Brown is not even the starting quarterback anymore but don't question his toughness. "I tore my labrum in the 3rd week so I haven't been able to play qb".
Instead Brown moved to wide receiver and has flourished at the position. "I'm averaging about 12 catches for 150 yards a game". I was off to a good start a quarterback. I had already thrown for six touchdowns and ran for two more".
While Brown is having a great season catching the ball he is being recruiting by ULM to play quarterback.
"I met a lot of players, fans, and coaches on my visit and they were all very nice to me. The team as a whole was very united. They let us eat pregame with the team and make the walk through the grove. Mitch Bailey was my host and he was great to hang out with. I think they were 17 point underdogs but really took it to Troy".
Brayle was also being recruited by North Texas, UNLV, and Arizona State before committing to ULM.
The 6'2 185 pounder had an incredible junior season and showed why colleges were on him coming into his senior season. Brown threw for 31 touchdown passes and rushed for 11 more.
