McDuffie Talks ULM Spring Game

Bowie high school DE/LB Jaylyn McDuffie is making the move from the offensive side of the ball to the defensive side. McDuffie was at the ULM spring game this past Saturday and offered his thoughts as well as his interest in ULM.

It's not often you see an offensive center make the switch to linebacker after their junior season, but you will in 2012 in Bowie's Jaylyn McDuffie.

"I played center last year because it was where my team needed me most", said McDuffie. "This season I am converting to linebacker".

With 4.7 speed and 225 pounds on a 6'1 frame, Jaylyn will be a force for opposing offenses to deal with in 2012.

McDuffie was in Monroe this weekend and took in the ULM Maroon and Gold spring game.

"ULM has a real nice campus, the facilities were nice".

"Both teams showed balance but you could tell the chemistry was missing because the teams were split up". "I like how the Maroon team fought back. They didn't draw first blood but they played as a team and fought back for the win".

McDuffie also commented on the Warhawks 3-3-5 defense.

"I like how the LB is used as the fourth rusher". "At times I saw a 4-2-5 defense".

Jaylyn reports an impressive 3.3 GPA and is planning on taking his SAT in May.

"I like the academic foundation that ULM has set out for it's student athletes", said McDuffie.

What about a potential future offer?

"They told me that the ULM camp will be the "X" factor depending on how I perform".

"McDuffie says he is planning on hitting the camp at ULM over the summer as well as the Tulane, Baylor, and UNT camps.
