"I had a very good combine," Sam said. "I made top five receivers. I went against a California commit (Koa Farmer) during one-on-one's featuring the top wide receivers versus the top defensive backs.
"I beat him off the line of scrimmage. He was pressing and was physical. There were some really good DBs there with offers. They asked where I have offers from - and were shocked when I said I'm still waiting on my first."
"Peavy is from Missouri," Sam said. "He told me he'd love to play college ball with me.
"Overall, I did pretty good. I'm going to either the Nike SPARQ Combine in New Orleans or Minnesota's junior day early next month. Both events occur on the same weekend."
Sam starts at both receiver and defensive back for the Class 4A Opelousas Tigers.
