Zeek Zacharie is coming off a sophomore season in which he caught 30 passes for over 400 yards and 2 touchdowns. Bulking up to 235lbs, Zeek is going into his Junior season with a big encore in mind.

A unanimous all 1st team SBC selection, a John Mackey Award watch list, and the 21st ranked TE in the nation according to CollegeFootballNews.com. Kenneth "Zeek" Zacharie will do his share of damage on a ULM offense that is ready to take flight.

WarhawkNation: Zeek, what are your thoughts on all of the preseason awards you have received so far?

Zeek: Really it's surprising because last year I was a wide receiver before I moved to TE. The coaches like the way I picked up the position and I got more and more reps at TE before it became my permanent position.

WarhawkNation: You stormed out of the gate last year and had your biggest game in week 2 vs Kansas. Will we see more big games this season like that one?

Zeek: Consistency is the name of the game right now. I want to start off strong and stay strong through out the season. I am trying to work hard in practice so I can have an even better season this year.

WarhawkNation: What was your main goal of improvement coming into the 2007 season?

Zeek: No doubt about it, Blocking. Last year they had to take me out and bring bigger blockers in when we needed that tough yard. I had to beef up and get stronger and become a better blocker so I can stay in the game more.

WarhawkNation: This is the teams 3rd practice on the new field turf. Are you starting to get a good feel for it?

Zeek: It's great, I am really enjoying it. We don't have to worry about water or a bad spot on the field ever again. You feel faster running on it.

WarhawkNation: What team(s) is Zeek looking forward to playing this season?

Zeek: I'm going to say Tulsa because we open up on ESPN2. It's going to be nationally televised so everyone will be watching. I look forward to playing Louisiana Lafayette as well. One of my best friends from high school is the quarterback Michael Desormeaux and of course that is my home town.

WarhawkNation: Will we see you line up as a WR from time to time?

Zeek: Yes sir you will, the coaches have some special formations for me that will allow me to get more touches.

WarhawkNation: What is something we might now know about you and what is your nickname?

Zeek: They call me "Super Zeek", lol. A lot of people might not realize it but I am pretty shy, I don't really like the spotlight.

WarhawkNation: When you guys come out of the locker room do you look around to see if the fans showed up to support you?

Zeek: That's the first thing we do. When we have a big crowd it really gets up pumped up and makes us want to play even harder.
