The Louisiana Monroe Warhawks kicked of their annual Athletic Foundation Dinner in Fant Ewing Coliseum Tuesday night. A crowd close to 1000 enjoyed good food and fellowship with fellow Warhawk supporters. WarhawkNation was there to bring you some photos of the event.

One of the main topics that Coach Weatherbie, Bobby Staub and Dr Jim Cofer talked about was filling the stands on August 30th vs
Tulsa
.
Coach Weatherbie announced that this was the biggest crowd he has seen at ULM for the Athletic Foundation. Eight players represented the Warhawks as team captains this year. The team voting was so close they decided to name all 8 to alternate each game as captains. James Wright, Quintez Secka, Kendal Mouton, Adam Hill, Kyle Cunningham, Cole Wilson, and Calvin Dawson will represent the Warhawks as captains this year.
"This just shows the team leadership that we have on this football team this year", said Weatherbie. "This community, this university has come so far in four years going on five. I remember back in 2003 walking into Dr Cofers office, sitting down and listening to his vision of what he wanted to do at ULM and how he wanted us to be apart of it."
"We have talked to our kids about how this first game is our #1 game on our schedule this year. Tulsa is a good football team and they have been to 4 straight bowl games. You know
Troy
put it on Rice pretty good in the New Orleans bowl and Rice beat Tulsa in the regular season. We really feel talent wise we are right there even with Tulsa."
"We have 5 offensive players make the Pre-Season all SBC team and none on defense. This is going to be a very good defensive football team. We have 3-4 guys that should have been pre season picks. "We need to pack the house, pack out Malone. This is so important that we have a home field advantage and that's where you the fans come in".
