ULM QB Named To Davey O'Brien Watch List
After a break-out sophomore season, ULM junior Kinsmon Lancaster has been named to the Davey O'Brien Award watch list for the top collegiate quarterback announced on Tuesday, Aug. 21.
"It is exciting to hear this news because it is such an honor," ULM football head coach Charlie Weatherbie said. "It is quite an honor for Kinsmon to be on the list of 35 candidates. He exudes all the characteristics of leadership, talent and work away from the field that are hallmarks of the award."
Lancaster made the list of signal callers after passing for 1,789 yards and rushing for another 333. The Shreveport, La. native scored 12 total touchdowns with seven coming in the air and five on the ground.
Lancaster joins reigning Sun Belt Conference player of the year Omar Haugabook of Troy, and Corey Leonard of Arkansas State as the only representatives of the league on the list. Tulsa quarterback Paul Smith was also named to the preseason watch list.
