The ULM baseball team continues to pile up the talent this off season and it seems they have landed another great pitching arm. Tony Dischler of Rayne high school has committed to play baseball for the Louisiana Monroe Warhawks.
"I came up about three weeks ago to meet the coaching staff and toured the campus, check out the place", said Tony. I was impressed with how nice the campus was. Coach Trahan recruited me and watched me play over the summer. He said he is coming over to Shreveport this weekend to watch me play. I am an outdoors man who likes to hunt and fish so I will fit right in up here in Monroe".
Dischler who is 6'3 says his best pitch is his fast ball with his out pitch being his curve ball. Last season Tony posted a 6-3 record and a 2.10 ERA. He struck out 80 batters in only 67 innings pitched while leading his Wolves to the state semi-finals in class 3A.
"We should be just as good as or better than last year", said Dischler. We only lost 2 seniors so I think we can do even better and this time make it to the championship game". Tony plans on majoring in either business or construction management when he enrolls at ULM.
Tony held offers from the University of New Orleans, ULM, LSU-Eunice, Southeastern, and Nicholls State University.
