Calvin Dawson stands alone in ULM history. On a night where his team drops a heartbreaking 43-40 loss to MTSU, Calvin Dawson ran for 180 yards to become ULM's all time leading rusher. It was his seventeenth career 100 yard rushing performance. Dawson now has 3,121 rushing yards in his career, passing Roosevelt Potts total of 3,061 .
Dawson ran the ball 17 times for 180 yards and three touchdowns averaging 10.6 yards per carry. His touchdowns came from 7, 17, and 62 yards out. Not only did he do it running the ball, Calvin did it receiving and returning the ball for the Warhawks.
With 67 yards on three catches and another 82 yards on kick returns, Dawson amassed an amazing 329 yards of total offense against the Blue Raiders of Middle Tennessee. That total breaks the ULM single game total offense record held by all purpose player Cisco Richard.
That's not all. With his three touchdown performance, Dawson also moves into first place all time for total touchdowns in ULM history. Dawson breaks former great quarterback Steven Jyles record of 25 total touchdowns. With three games to go Dawson has 12 rushing touchdowns and now has 27 total touchdowns for his career.
Dawson came into the game with 977 yards rushing on the season and now sits at 1,157 with remaining games against Grambling, Alabama, and Louisiana-Lafayette.
