The ULM Warhawks invaded Lawrence Kansas and although they came up a little short, they still put on an impressive shooting performance.
The Warhawks were lead by Junior point guard Tony Hooper who finished with a ULM high 19 points. Hooper was plagued by foul trouble and picking up his fourth foul just two minutes into the second half.
True freshman Rudy Turner(6'8 268) had an impressive showing in his first college game for the Warhawks. The stats don't show it but Rudy did a good job of moving bodies around in the paint and keeping rebounds alive for ULM. In 17 minutes of action Turner finished with 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals.
Coming off the bench Jordan Payne finished with 17 points and hit 2/6 from three point range. Payne also picked up three steals on the night but turned the ball over five times. Senior Lance Brasher was the only other Warhawk in double figures finishing with 12 points and five rebounds. He too was hit with his fourth foul early in the second half.
The Warhawks will return to action when they will travel north for the Northern Michigan tournament this weekend. ULM finished the night shooing 51% against the #4 ranked team in the nation.
