ULM Receives Verbal From Pearl River DT

DT Thomas Robinson

Pearl River Community College DT's Thomas Robinson, Alex Ford, and Aaron Williams made the short trip west to watch ULM host GSU this past weekend. One of the big lineman gave his verbal to the Warhawks before leaving.

Pearl River CC defensive standouts Thomas Robinson, Aaron Williams, and Alex Ford all took in ULM's exciting 28-14 victory over the GSU Tigers this past Saturday night. Thomas Robinson was so impressed he gave his verbal to the ULM coaching staff before heading back home.

"Before the game we all got to tour the ULM campus and building, checked out the dorm rooms. It was an impressive campus. This was my first visit to ULM but I guess you could call it my official visit because I committed to ULM before I left".

"Coach Dickerson was recruiting me but I already knew about ULM. Our defensive backs coach Larry Whigham played at ULM and spent 9 seasons in the NFL".

Whigham himself actually played at Pearl River CC before transferring to ULM and played in the Mississippi JUCO all-star game.

"Coming out of high school I had several schools like Ole Miss, Louisiana Tech, and Mississippi State looking at me. I picked up an offer from Tenn-Martin a few weeks ago but decided on ULM this weekend".

Robinson, who has family in Hattiesburg, says playing at ULM will give his family a chance to come and watch him play. "Coach Dickerson said that I would get my shot to come right in and play and try to contribute to the team.

The 6'0 280 pounder recorded 17 tackles and one sack this past season and is graduating this December. Thomas will enroll at ULM this spring and be come eligible to play in the fall for the 2008 season.

The ULM Warhawks are off to a fast start to the 2008 signing class. With two more commitments this past weekend the Warhawks have now received 7 verbals, 5 of them coming on the defensive side of the ball.
