Kyle Suire dominated the opening
weekend finishing with a .625 (10-
for-16) batting average, 7 RBIs,
six runs scored, 17 total bases
and two home runs. Suire hit the
game winner in the top of the 10th
inning of the season opener lifting
ULM to a 1-0 victory.
The senior’s
two home runs are even more remarkable
when you consider only
five homers were hit out of Didier
Field last season. His slugging percentage for the weekend
was 1.063 and he also stole a base as the Warhawks
opened the season with a three-game sweep on the road.
He finished the weekend recording a hit in 10 of his last
13 at-bats, including a 5-for-6 performance in the fi nale.
Suire was a part of a back-to-back-to-back home
run display that the Warhawks put on.
