friday night in the top of the ninth off a throwing error by ASU. The ASU
Indians took the next game 15-10 on saturday afternnoon. The Warhawks
faught back Sunday evening, pulling off a 6-3 win due to another throwing
error by ASU. The Warhawks beat a ASU team that is ranked 1st in the
league in pitching, they sweep Louisiana Lafayette and they knocked off a high ranked
Ole Miss team last week.
SFA is coming into the weekday series after getting sweep by the Lamar
Cardinals. The same Lamar Cardinals that the Warhawks pounded 12-3 on
March 11, 2008 and 10-1 on March 12, 2008 at Warhawk field. Currently SFA
is sitting in last place in the Southland Conference with a 1-5 record and
a overall record of 9-11. Louisiana-Monroe currently is in 3rd place in
the Sunbelt Conference with a record of 7-2 and a overall record of 16-6.
Warhawk fans might see a new face on the mound. According to sources close to the situation, Matt Laird may move from the outfield to the
mound against the Lumberjacks. The Warhawks could use a good
outing from Laird to help rest the pitchers for a very powerful Flordia
Atlantic team this weekend.
According to the ULM Athletic website www.ulmathletics.com, live stats will be availble at game
time.
Go Warhawks!!
