The University of Louisiana at Monroe Warhawk baseball team welcomes the Trojans of Little Rock, Arkansas this weekend for a 3 game Sunbelt Conference Series. UALR Trojans come into the series off a midweek win against Mississippi Valley State. The Warhawks are also coming off a midweek win against former Southland Conference foe McNeese State.
In that game, the Warhawks pounded nine extra base hits, hitting 3 long balls and 6 doubles during the game. Ben Soignier now leads the team with 7 home runs on the year.
The Trojans have a overall record of 6-19 and 2-8 in the Sunbelt Conference, while the Warhawks have a overall record of 18-8 and 10-2 in the Sunbelt Conference. Currently the Warhawks are 2 1/2 games ahead Troy in Conference standings.
ULM has a 5 game winning streak and a Sunbelt Conference 4 game winning streak going into Friday nights game. The first pitch is set for 7:00 PM at Warhawk Field.
Warhawk Nation caught up with head Coach Jeff Schexnaider, and he had this to say about this weekends match up. "It's a big conference weekend, and we are trying to stay at the top of the standings. We need the support of the community to keep this momentum going". If you haven't been to a game, this Friday is a good opportunity to come out and enjoy a day at the ball park and watch some good college baseball".
