2 Games.....39 Hits.....32 Runs.....2 Wins......No, this isn't you playing your little brother on PlayStation! That is what the ULM Baseball team did this past week.
The Warhawks have been below par during mid-week games, but they ended that this week with a win over Centenary on Tuesday 11-2 and then a pounding on McNeese Wednesday 21-9. Kyle Suire has also found his bat again, hitting over .500 the past five games. Suire's bat, along with the other Warhawks, will be needed this weekend. Middle Tennessee State is coming into the series with a 7 game winning streak.
Middle Tennessee, 20-14-1 overall and 9-8 in conference play, are looking to surprise the league leading Warhawks.
The week started out with many questions. Prevost was hit in the face by a pitch during the ULL game, leaving him with a black eye. Ryan McMillan was also hurt during the ULL series. Then to top things off, Junior Shortstop Ben Soignier, attempted to make a catch on a foul ball during the Centenary game, only to meet the brick wall on the left field line. To much relief, Soignier only suffered a cut above his ear.
With the Warhawks all healed up, this weekend series should be a good one. Both teams are coming into the weekend with confidence. The Warhawks will look to remain at top of the Sunbelt conference, while the Blue Raiders look to gain some spots in the standings.
Could you ask for anything better? Super Warhawk Weekend, Two Great Baseball Teams and fun for the whole family!
See you at the ballpark!
