In The "Nick" Of Time!

ULM Sophomore and West Monroe native Nick Wade saves the day with a Grand Slam giving the Warhawks a game 3 victory over the Troy Trojans on Senior day at Warhawk Field.

ULM sophomore 3rd baseman Nick Wade and Center fielder A.J. Siggers provided the pop and Senior Jared Jennings delivered a complete game victory giving the Warhawks a salvaged game three over the visiting Troy Trojans.

After getting beaten soundly in the first two games of the series the Warhawks responded today with a 8-5 victory on Senior day at Warhawk Field.

With the win the Warhawks snap a four game losing streak and maintain their first place grip on the Sun Belt conference but they will need help down the stretch to claim the title. ULM clinches no worse than a second place finish in the Sun Belt.

ULM starter Jared Jennings was a workhorse going 9 strong innings and striking out 9 Trojans in the process.

All eight ULM runs came via the home run ball. Ben Soignier hit his 15th home run of the season, a solo shot that tied the game at one. Trailing 2-1, Nick Wade unloaded the bases with a grand slam that gave ULM the lead for good at 5-2. A.J. Siggers would hit a three run homer that would prove to be much needed insurance as Troy tacked on three runs late.

With the win ULM moves to 32-19 (20-10) while Troy drops to 30-22 (16-11). ULM will travel to Ruston, La to take on the Tech Bulldogs this Tuesday night at 6PM.
