Game 2, Series To Warhawks

Ryan McMillan Was On Base 4 Times

Things got interesting in the ninth inning as the Cajuns drew within one run on a Matt Goulas 2 run homer but ULM reliever Cory Brown got Greg Fontenot to ground out to end the game.

Ryan McMillan homered, drove in two runs, scored three, and was on base four times to lead the ULM Warhawks to a game two 8-7 victory over Louisiana-Lafayette Saturday afternoon. With the win, the Warhawks (20-12 10-7 Sun Belt) take the series from the Cajuns (17-14-1 8-8 Sun Belt).

Second baseman Boomer Blanchard doubled and drove in three runs and Ben Soignier, Matt Laird, and Jordy Poche each had two hits a piece in the victory.

Justin Anderson got the start for ULM and was on cruise control until the top of the fifth inning. A hit batsman, 2 wild pitches and a single ended the night for Anderson as reliever Drew Graham was called on to get the final out of the inning.

Graham was very effective giving up just 2 hits and 2 runs in 3.1 innings of work. Drew picked up the win and struck out 5 Cajuns on the night including the side in the top half of the sixth.

Greg Wilborn took the loss for ULL lasting just 2.2 innings. Wilborn walked six and was charged with six earned runs.
