ULM Short stop Ben Soignier got the call on the second day of the 2009 MLB baseball draft by the New York Yankees.

Shortstop Ben Soignier got the call from the New York Yankees in the 22nd round of the 2009 MLB draft.

The West Monroe native hit .379 in his senior season with 11 home runs and a ULM record 71 RBI's.

For his career Ben hit 37 home runs and drove in 180 RBI's for the Warhawks. In 2008 Ben was named to the Louisville Slugger All American third team and the PING! All American 2nd team. Ben led all of college baseball in 2008 in runs scored per game with 1.29/game.
