St Augustine offensive lineman Byron Williams is exactly what college coaches are looking for. 6'4 320 pounds with good feet and a great attitude. Williams fits the bill and lucky for the ULM Warhawks, Byron is showing strong interest in the program as he drove 5 hours to take an unofficial visit Saturday afternoon.
"I had a great time, ULM has a really good football team. There were a lot of momentum swings in that game but they didn't give up. When that 90 yard kick off returned was called back they could have quit but they didn't.
For Byron this was not his first trip up north to visit ULM. "I came up over the summer for a 1 on 1 camp", said Byron. I got to take a look at the school but not as much as I liked, we were short on time".
"I checked out the coliseum, the library, the classrooms. I really like how everything at ULM is so organized and easy to get to".
Williams was able to stay until the end and talk with the coaches. "I met all of the coaches and I talked to some of the players. It was great to interact with them".
To date Williams holds offers from ULM, Grambling, Southern, ULL, and is getting contacted by Alabama.
Alabama is recruiting me, they want me to come over for a visit. I would say right now they are my top school but ULM #2 right behind them.
Stay tuned to Warhawk Nation as we continue to follow Byron and his recruitment until signing day.
St Augustine offensive lineman traveled from the deep south of New Orleans to Northeast Louisiana to check out the ULM Warhawks Saturday afternoon.
