The ULM Warhawks must be jinxed. On the eve of the biggest game they will play since the jump to Division 1-A, they lose their top wide out in senior LaGregory Sapp for the season.
Sapp, who leads the team and the Sun Belt conference with 784 receiving yards returned this season after missing all of last season with academic issues. Given a second chance, he emerged again as a true deep threat the Warhawks were missing and became a favorite target of junior quarterback Trey Revell.
The Warhawks are set to travel to Louisiana-Lafayette to take on the Cajuns Saturday night. A win would all but get ULM a serious look at a bowl game while a loss will make it tough on the Warhawks to gain a post season birth.
While we are still gathering details it appears that Sapp cut his arm during an altercation that required emergency surgery.
ULM's SID Adam Prendergast released this statement to Warhawk Nation.com. "We are aware of the situation and still trying to gather information."
