St Amant Kicker Says Yes To ULM

St Amant place kicker Justin Manton made it official on Wednesday giving his verbal commitment to the ULM Warhawks. Get inside Warhawk Nation for Justin's interview.

St Amant kicker Justin Manton attended the ULM camp in his own back yard in June and it paid off today when he committed to the ULM Warhawks for the class of 2011.

At 6'2 175, Manton has the build and strong leg that college coaches are looking for in a kicker.

"I had a really good camp at ULM", said Manton. I talked to Coach Applewhite a good bit and got to meet coach Berry as well. A week after the ULM camp I got an official scholarship in the mail. I was pretty excited".

"I called Coach Berry today to tell him I was ready to commit. He made sure I was comfortable with the decision and I was".

Justin has yet to visit the campus of ULM but is making those plans right now. I think the weekend of the 26-27 my family and I am going to drive up to take a look around".

Along with the ULM camp, Manton also attended an LSU and LaTech camp and has been taking lessons from former Cowboys kicker Chris Boniol since the 7th grade.

Justin was 6/8 on field goals in 2009 with a school record 54 yarder. He hit good on 46/47 field goals and had a 37 yard punting average.
